Ambear describes in detail deportations and death marches of her collective family, tormenting prison atrocities of the cardinals and archbishops of Marash, condemnations by the Aleppo Supreme Court, and eventual escape on Armistice Day, as well as revolution, retreat of the French Army, in addition to the roles of the missionaries and legionnaires during this tragic era.
