Product DescriptionThe vocal trio has collaborated with producer J. Armen (Armen J. Meschian) and painter and live-illustrator Kevork Mourad to create the long-awaited album. The album features an enhanced CD with 12 audio-tracks, a music video and both translations and transliterations for each song. In less than two years, Zulal has developed a solid performance record including a coast-to-coast U.S. tour, an audition for Cirque du Soleil and a nomination for "Best Folk/ World Song" at the 2004 Annnual Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. 'Zulal', meaning clarity, is an Armenian a cappella folk trio comprised of three Armenian women: Teni Apelian, Yeraz Markarian, and Anais Tekerian. Their original arrangements pay tribute to Armenia's folk roots while forging imaginative harmonies that add a fresh energy to traditional repertoire. Keeping to the folk tradition, Zulal writes its arrangements in an organic style, using the simplicity of voice to capture the heart of Armenia's rural music. Their repertoire is marked by the sounds of longing, celebration, struggle, desire, and reverie. Track Listing: 1. Sari Siroon Yar 2. Im Khorodig Yar 3. Keler Tsoler 4. Gakav Tuhrav 5.
