John Bilezikjian - One Thousand and One Nights

This album was recorded in February of 1976 in Van Nuys, California. The music on tracks 3, 4, & 5 is legendary. All three are examples of classical middle-eastern music that players of the oud know and perform. These pieces make up some of the most difficult of repertoire for the insturment. John transcribed these works for 2 Ouds and recorded these versions for this album. In the last 26 years, these renditions are unmatched in speed, articulation, precision, and in interpretation for the instrument.
